Hanoi's March CPI to Rise 0.7% in March

Hanoi’s consumer price index in March is forecast to rise between 0.5% and 0.7% from last month, according to an official from the municipal Statistics Office.
 
Do Ngoc Hai, deputy head of the office, said that the CPI rose 2.61% last month, a high rate as compared to the country’s average level.
 
Hai also predicts the city’s economy to grow 8.7% in the first quarter this year, a two-fold increase against 3.1% of the same period last year.
 
In 2009, Hanoi’s GDP expanded 6.67% from a year earlier. (Vietnam Economic Times)
