FDI Inflow to Hanoi Falls 28.57% to US$30M in Q1

Total pledged foreign direct investment (FDI) of the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi fell 28.57% to US$30 million in the first quarter, according to a statement by Mayor Nguyen The Thao.
 
Between January and March, the city licensed 3,500 businesses, Thao said.
 
The city’s GDP growth expanded 8.7% in the first quarter, driven by industrial production output that rose 12.4% from a year earlier.
 
Hanoi is now home to 16 IPs and 39 industrial complexes, of which, eight IPs become operational, generating more than 90,000 jobs. (vneconomy)
