The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will hold the fourth exhibition on nuclear power in Hanoi between May 27 and 29 as preparations to kick-start the country’s two first nuclear power plants in 2014.
The event will introduce to visitors fuel suppliers for the nuclear power plants and consultants on designing, constructing, installing, operating and maintaining for the plants.
The plants, which will be built in the central province of Ninh Thuan, are expected to have a combined capacity of 4,000 MW.
Vietnam has chosen Russian Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation to build the two first reactors and is seeking partners to build other reactors.
Currently several prestigious industrial corporations including Toshiba, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi of Japan and Avera of France, are advancing their interest in nuclear power projects in Vietnam. (New Hanoi)
