Hanoi’s Socio-economic Development Strategy until 2030 Approved

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently signed Decision 222/QD-TTg, approving socio-economic development strategy of Hanoi until 2030 with the vision to 2050.
 
Accordingly, by 2030, the average income in Hanoi will be higher than other areas. The residents will enjoy higher living conditions and a better environment. The annual growth rate of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2011 – 2020 and 2012 – 2030 will be 12-13 percent and 9.5 – 10 percent, respectively. GDP per capita in 2020 will be US$7,100 – US$7,500 and US$16,000 – US$17,000 by 2030.
 
Total investment capital is estimated at around VND3,900 – 4,100 trillion (equivalent to US$180 – US$190 billion) in 2011 – 2020. Especially, urban administration will be put into practice step by step in Hanoi, where the electronic administration will be set up to meet the demands for suitable economic management in the process of building e-government services.
