Thanks to flexible, innovative and professional promotion and investment attraction in recent years, Binh Dinh has always been an attractive investment destination for investors.

Mr Nguyen Bay, Director of Provincial Investment Promotion Centre, said that along with the support of the Government and foreign funding, Binh Dinh province has been focusing on promoting investment resources in and outside the province.

Investment promotion is highly valued in Binh Dinh province and implemented in a professional way with practical solutions. Based on deploying flexible propaganda forms, Binh Dinh has recently become popular for investors, particularly foreign-direct-investment (FDI) investors. In the first 6 months of 2015, the province had 6 FDI projects which were granted investment certificates with a total registered capital of US$43,08 million. Until now, Binh Dinh has 61 FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$1,798 billion, of which agriculture - forestry - fishery field has 8 projects accounting for US$52 million registered capital; the industrial - construction field has 33 projects with US$1.41 billion; service filed has 20 projects with US$336 million. Investors come from almost all economically prosperous countries in the world (US, Japan, China, South Korea, Britain, Germany and others) and in the region (Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand). Besides, recently, a number of leading brands in commercial retail in Vietnam, such as Big C and Metro, have invested in Binh Dinh.

In 2015, the Investment Promotion Centre of Binh Dinh province has actively developed investment promotion activities, organised investment promotion programs in Binh Dinh in general and Nhon Hoi economic zone in particular. According to Mr Bay, this is necessary to strongly promote the image of Binh Dinh, creating more investment opportunities for Binh Dinh in and outside the country and attracting many important, diversified and effective projects as a prerequisite for the local socio-economic development in subsequent years. Accordingly, Binh Dinh has been calling for investment from potential investors nationally and internationally towards key projects relating to tourism - services, transport infrastructure, communication, education, healthcare, supporting industry and processing industry. Binh Dinh also gives priorities to projects with modern technology, high intellectual factor, environmentally friendly, efficient use of natural resources, mineral soil, and with highly competitive products. The centre also focuses on medium and small investors with clean and high technology, namely Japan, South Korea, United States, Western European countries and the developing countries to accelerate supporting industries, attracting strong investors. Besides, it is necessary to further attract investment from domestic entrepreneurs, with its great potential.

Some key projects under the investment promotion programs of the Investment Promotion Centre are Nhon Hoi Port and logistics zone port (with the total capital of US$300-400 million); Quy Nhon - Tam Quan coastal road (US$400 million); Nhon Hoi economic zone (US$75-100 million); Binh Dinh Thermal Power Centre (US$7.000 million); the component projects in Nhon Hoi new urban area (US$20-200 million/component project); Thi Nai Lagoon Ecological Tourism (US$400 million); obstetrics hospital of Binh Dinh province (US$25 million); and high-quality general hospital (US$15 million).
