The Prime Minister recently decided to establish Thai Binh Economic Zone in Thai Binh province.
Accordingly, Thai Binh Economic Zone is a coastal economic zone consisting of 30 communes and one town in two districts of Thai Thuy and Tien Hai.
The economic zone comprises functional areas such as a Thai Binh power centre, an industrial complex, a port area and port services, tourism, convalescence, and entertainment areas; fish farming areas; coastal preventive forests; urban areas, and an administrative area.
The economic zone aims to optimise advantages in local natural conditions; prioritise the development of industries that utilise local potential natural gas and raw materials sources; link with economic zones and industrial parks already developed in the Red River Delta; combine agricultural and aquacultural development in suitable places, develop urban areas and services, and create jobs for local people.
