MoI Approves Construction of Two Hydropower Plants in Dak Nong

 

The Ministry of Industry (MoI) has allowed N&S Ltd. Co to implement two hydropower projects in the central highlands province of Dak Nong.

 

The company will invest VND232 billion (US$14.8 million) into these two plants, namely Dak Ru and Quang Tin, which are scheduled for operation in the third quarter of 2006.

 

Located on Dak Lap stream, the 7.2-MW Dak Ru hydropower plant has a total investment capital of VND138.28 billion (US$8.8 million) and the 5-MW Quang Tin plant costs VND94.4 billion (US$6 million).

 

The two plants, which will be built under the build-own-operate (BOO) form, is expected to provide 52.5 million kWh of electricity per year for the national power system.
