Four industrial parks (IP) in the northern province of Hai Duong have lured total foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$148.9 million in the first three months this year, said the provincial IPs management board.

Of the sum, six newly-licensed FDI projects in the four IPs Dai An, Phuc Dien, Tan Truong and Viet Hoa-Kenmark, make up $54.7 million while the rest comes from capital extension of four existing projects.

Biggest projects belong to PHI Ltd. Co. with $30 million and Jaguar International Ltd. Co. with $10 million. Projects approved to raise operation capital are: Cosmowood Ltd. Co, increasing capital from $10 million to $50 million, and Brother Vietnam Ltd. Co, from $40 million to $50 million.

The province’s IPs pulled in combined registered capital of $610.6 million in FDI last year, the board said.

Hai Duong now has seven IPs covering 1,500 hectares. It plans to build 13 new IPs of 2,520ha from now to 2010, after government approval. (Investment)
