Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked mayor of London city Alderman John Stuttard to help Vietnam develop its capital and securities markets, and called for more investment from British financial companies, at their talks in Hanoi on May 2.
Dung also pledged to create favorable conditions for British investors to successfully do business in Vietnam.
At the meeting, John Stuttard, leading a delegation of Britain’s major financial organizations on a Vietnam visit, expressed hopes of tightening relations with Vietnam’s financial sector and developing Vietnam’s capital market.
He went on to say that several projects have attracted British investors’ interest, such as education, finance, law and public administration.
According to John Stuttard the London financial market, home to more than 2,000 foreign financial companies, is now one of the biggest in the world.
Vietnam’s financial market offers great opportunities for foreign financial investors, due to high potential and growth rate. Vietnam needs assessment and experience shared by international financial organizations, to work out appropriate measures to further develop the market in a healthy manner. (The People)
