Hanoi to Host Tourism Exhibitions in Late April

The capital city of Hanoi will organizetourism exhibitionsnamed Hanoi - Two International & Hotel Exhibitions at the Giang Vo Exhibition Center from April 20- 24.
 
The events are the International Expo for Travel and Tourism, Camping and Caravanning, and the International Hotel Equipment, Food and Service Supplies Expo.
 
Organized by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and GFC International Fair and communications, the events aim to strengthen trade, and advertise products and services.
 
The exhibitions will also provide an opportunity for administrators, travel agents, hoteliers and executives working in related industries to exchange experiences and find potential investment partners, say event organizers.
 
The travel, camping and caravanning expo will encompass four major areas: international tourism, travel destinations in Vietnam, vehicles and accessories.
 
Several awards will be handed out at the events such as the Impression Tourism Operator, Impression Destination Cup and Friendly Hotel.
 
The equipment and service supplies expo will focus on the latest equipment in food preparation and catering for the hospitality industry.
 
The organizers expect thousands of visitors to join the event.
 
Currently, Hanoi boasts 34 hotels ranked 3-5 stars, which meet only 70 per cent of international tourist demand during this "hot" tourism season.
 
The city welcomed more than 350,000 foreign visitors in the first quarter of this year, accounting for 35 per cent of the total number of tourists to the city during the period.
 
It has set a target to receive 6.6 million visitors, including 1.2 million foreigners, an increase of around 9 per cent against 2006 and earn a revenue of VND15 trillion (US$937.5 million) in 2007. (Vietnam Economic Times, VNS)
