Hanoi Retail Sales Forecast to Rise 25 per cent to VND348,375 Bln This Year

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is forecast to see an on-year retail sales increase of 25 per cent to VND348,375 billion (US$20.61 billion) this year, said the municipal Industry and Trade Service.

The city is trying to raise its production value by between 10.5 per cent and 11 per cent to VND86,100 billion and VND90,200 billion in 2009.

Hanoi also targets to boost this year’s export growth rate by 20 per cent, said the service.

Last year, Hanoi posted total retail sales of VND278.7 trillion, up 28.2 per cent on-year and total industrial production of over VND82 trillion, up 12.8 per cent. (New Hanoi)
