The company expects to become a big tourism corporation, acquire four and five-star hotels, develop new tourism sites with a 1,000-member human resource, and promote the Kiengiang tourist trademark to neighbouring countries in the near term. It will also build high-level hotel, restaurant, and tourism site chains in the province and nationwide in order to affirm its position and role in the domestic market. The company is speeding up upgrading infrastructure and scenes of the Hon Trem tourism site phase II that comprises a four-star four-story hotel and a swimming pool to attract domestic and foreign tourists. This is considered to boast the greatest tourism development potential in the province. In addition, the company will expand the MICE Tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) model particularly in Kien Giang province in order to create differences to the trademark via the Kien Giang tourist Portal. The company will also place due attention to accomplishment of management technology in the near term.
Being aware that Phu Quoc, Ha Tien quadrangle, western Hau River area, Ca Mau peninsular and sea and island area boast great tourism development potential, the company is carrying out various projects to take these advantages, including upgrading Hang Pagoda-Hon Phu relic, building a tourism site in Hon Dat district, construction of a four-star hotel in Rach Gia, Hon Tre restaurant in Kien Hai, and a restaurant, hotel complex in U Minh Thuong area. All the efforts are aimed at making the company a key point of Kien Giang’s tourism sector.
How do you feel when you are the first overseas Vietnamese nominated as general director of a corporation that is equitized from a state-owned company?
I scurried in foreign land for years and I think it is very significant to do business fatherland. I was deeply attached to fatherland even I was in foreign countries; thus, I thought I would try my best to contribute to my native land. I proposed provincial authorities to form tourism trademarks for the Rach Gia and Kien Luong areas and happily, I received their support. The company is realizing this thought in order to create a clean and beautiful scene in those areas. I hope these works will help attract more tourists to Kien Giang in the near term.
