Hanoi to Need $998.97M for Power Grid Projects in 2011-2015

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is forecast to need VND19.48 trillion ($998.97 million) for implementing various power grid projects in the next five years.
 
Of the sum, VND5.98 trillion will be pumped into 220-kV grids, VND5 trillion into 110-kV grids, VND6.57 trillion into average-voltage grids, VND1.54 trillion into low-voltage grids, and VND390 million into developing renewable energy sources.
 
The capital will also help upgrade and bury 1,027 kilometers of electricity lines plus building 2,635 kilometers of low-voltage power lines and 1.35 million electricity meters in the five-year period.
 
With a population of 6.7 million people, Hanoi is forecast to consume 16.5 billion kWh of electricity in 2015 and 27.75 billion kWh in 2020. (Capital Security)
