With the focused investment orientation, Thai Nguyen transport infrastructure is increasingly complete to help increase regional connectivity. This is a factor that is prioritized by the province to attract investment, creating a strong bounce for socio-economic development.

Completing traffic infrastructure in synchronous and modern direction

In recent years, the transport infrastructure in Thai Nguyen province has undergone a remarkable change. The internal and external transport infrastructure of the province is improved day by day in a synchronous and modern direction, meeting the travel needs of people in the province and the region. 100% of communes in the province have roads to the center that are concreted according to technical standards of the Ministry of Transport (MOT).

In addition to investment projects for the development of industrial and rural systems, Thai Nguyen also promotes traffic development to serve tourism. The province has invested, upgraded and opened many domestic traffic routes to connect tourism, including the Project to upgrade and expand the route from Km31 National Highway 3 to special National Historic Site in Dinh Hoa ATK, President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Hall; The main road from Thai Nguyen city to Nui Coc Lake tourist area; Road around Nui Coc Lake; Project to upgrade a number of important provincial roads such as: DT.261, DT.262 and DT.266, which contributes to complete connection of regions, tourism products of the province, creating a basis for Thai Nguyen tourism to become an important economic sector of the province.

According to Mr. Tran Van Long, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Department of Transport, with focused investment orientations and long vision, Thai Nguyen transport infrastructure in the coming time will continue to be improved, helping to increase capacity connectivity. This is a very important premise, creating a strong bounce for the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen until 2025 and the next period of the province.

Accompanying businesses to overcome COVID-19

Facing the complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, the industry has continued to strive to fulfill the set targets and at the same time stand with businesses to overcome the difficulties of the pandemic.

Specifically, in 2 years (2020-2021), the Department of Transport has issued over 150 directing documents on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, requiring relevant units and individuals to implement measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic in the field of transport, training, and driving license testing.

Implementing Resolution 128/NQ-CP dated October 11, 2021 of the Government, in order to adapt to the new situation, intra-provincial passenger transport activities are carried out with normal frequency. In other transport support activities, the Department has issued a plan to mobilize vehicles to serve the transportation of vaccines, essential goods, medical supplies and medical staff. Transport activities "adapted to safely, flexibly, effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic" take place normally, ensuring to serve the travel needs of people and strictly implement the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

In order to support businesses and people to conveniently and safely circulate goods, the Department of Transport has built an intra-provincial "green channel" for means of transport of goods circulating through the province. The Department also simultaneously applied the software transferred by the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to issue identification certificates for priority vehicles operating on the national transport green channel from July 19, 2021. The Department also arranges necessary staff and equipment to receive and process applications submitted online on the software 24 hours and 7 days a week. It also strengthens the application of information technology in transportation activities, supporting epidemic prevention. The Department will soon implement online and automatic software to issue the green channel identification cards for vehicles participating in traffic, ensuring smooth circulation of goods.

Box: In the period to 2025, with a vision to 2030, Thai Nguyen will focus on completing the transport system in the direction of the horizontal axis of the province. In particular, the project of connecting roads aims to connect Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang provinces with 5 highways including: Hanoi - Bac Giang, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen, Hanoi - Lao Cai, Ring Road 5 of Hanoi Capital, and Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho. At the same time, the project also connects Hanoi - Thai Nguyen highway directly to Nui Coc Lake tourist area, connecting to Dinh Hoa ATK tourist area, creating a land fund for industrial development and tourism.
