The second Vietnam International Auto Industry and Supporting Industries Trade Fair and Conference (Vietnam AutoExpo 2006) opened in Hanoi today August 17, highlighting cheap cars and supporting industries for the Vietnamese auto fledging industry.
The five-day event showcases various kinds of vehicles, ranging from common automobiles to special vehicles for construction transportation, mining, healthcare, sanitation and military purposes.
Truong Hai Auto, which is the official sponsor of the fair, introduces some 20 models, including Kia trucks and Thaco buses.
Another emerging carmaker Vinaxuki also shows off some 20 models of pickups and light trucks.
Vinacomin Group brings in various models of medium and heavy Kmaz, Kraz and Scania trucks.
China’s Faw and Vietnam’s Hoang Tra Auto jointly present FAW lorries, dump trucks and buses.
The international trade fair shines products of Vinamotor, VietSan, JRD and Sufat.
The event also highlights the presentation of spare parts, auto interiors, equipment, maintenance service and other fields related to supporting industries manufactured by Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Indian and Thai firms like Michelin, GS, FAG, SKF, Denso, Bosch, 3M and Bridgestone.
Besides, the event also hosts conferences on the development of Vietnam’s auto industry and new policies on auto import-export and tax issues.
The Vietnam AutoExpo 2006 is held by the Industrial Policies and Strategies Institute (IPSI), Vietnam Society of Automotive Engineers (VSAE) and CIS Vietnam Advertisement and Exhibition Co.
