The 2007 Quang Ninh International Travel and Trade Expo at the Children’s Cultural Palace in Ha Long City from April 27 to May 2 will promote the province’s potential for tourism, trade, and investment, and create advantages for local and foreign enterprises approaching Quang Ninh’s market.
The fair will be divided into different areas, including home decor, tourism, entertainment, electronics, fashion, shoes, and handicraft products.
Some 150 Vietnamese and foreign companies have registered to lease 200 display booths. The show is an opportunity to market their wares, swap information, and get to know each other.
The expo is one activity of the 2007 Ha Long - Quang Ninh Tourism Week from April 28 to May 5. The event is co-organized by the Quang Ninh Trade Promotion and Information Center, and the Military Trade Promoting and Exhibition Center.
Quang Ninh, home to tangible World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay or "Descending Dragon", has 700 lodging establishments with 10,500 rooms. Besides Ha Long Bay, it is also famous for a number of appealing tourism sites such as the Bai Tu Long National Park and particularly the Tra Co beach in the border gate town of Mong Cai.
Quang Ninh, Haiphong and Hanoi form a tourism triangle of great potential in the north of Vietnam.
The province has set a target to welcome 2.2 million international arrivals and earn VND3.4 trillion ($215 million) from the service sector in 2015. (Vietnam & World Economy)
