Northern Quang Ninh province will host Mong Cai-Quang Ninh International Tourism and Trade Fair 2007 from November 1 to 6 to attract more visitors and investment and to earn more from goods exports, local media reported.
The Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Trade, Vinexpo Company and some relevant agencies in Quang Ninh province jointly introduce the planned fair at a seminar on August 9.
“The fair will be part of the national trade promotion program, which anticipates the continuing improvement of economic relationships between Vietnam and China, said Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Le Danh Vinh.
The organization board estimates around 200 enterprises with join the fair with 350-400 booths featuring automobiles, home appliance, wooden furniture, construction materials, handicrafts, agricultural, forestry and seafood products, apparels and footwear.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry, government of Mong Cai Township, Quang Ninh Commercial Department, and Vietnam International Exhibition and Fair Joint Stock Company will join hands to held the fair at Hong Van Trade Center in the township.
Northern Quang Ninh province was estimated to rake in US$765 million from goods exports in the first seven months of this year, up 20 per cent on-year, said Vu Van Thin, director of the provincial trade department.
The province targets export revenue of US$1.2 billion this year, Thin said.
Last year, national goods exported via the provincial border gates were valued at US$4.2 billion, he added. (Local sources)
