The eighth Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee on the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area is scheduled to open on December 3 - 7, 2012 in Kon Tum province.
The event comprises the Development Triangle Area Investment Promotion Conference; Trade and Tourism Conference; Development Triangle Area Youth Forum; Sixth Meeting of Economic Subcommittee; Sixth Meeting of Security Conference - External Affairs Subcommittee; Sixth Meeting of Environment and Society Subcommittee; Fifth Meeting of Local Coordination Subcommittee; Senior Officials Meeting (SOM); and Eighth Meeting of Joint Coordination Committee on Development Triangle Area.
The three parties will assess the implementation of contents of the Joint Statement and agreements reached by the prime ministers of the three countries at a meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 16, 2012 and the Minutes of the Seventh Meeting of Joint Coordination Committee on CLV Development Triangle Area. The participants will evaluate the implementation of special preferential policies for the Development Triangle Area, the master plan for socioeconomic development of CLV Development Triangle Area, the cooperation between the CLV Development Triangle Area and Japan, and the performance of four subcommittees (Economics, Security - Foreign Relations, Environment - Society, and Locality). They will also discuss the results of the Seventh CLV Investment, Trade And Investment Promotion Conference, the Fifth Development Triangle Area Youth Forum, the CLV Trade and Tourism Fair, and cooperation contents in 2013.
This is a chance for Kon Tum to boost its image, promote investment, trade and tourism, and expand development partnerships with other localities in the region.
