PetroVietnam Power Corp (PV Power) and two partner banks namely Ocean Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OceanBank) and HSBC Vietnam have recently signed contracts to arrange nearly VND400 billion for Phu Quy wind power plant in the central province of Binh Thuan.

The wind power plant with three wind turbines and total designed capacity of 6 MW for the first phase is built in island Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province. Three new wind turbines were included in the project to link with the existing diesel generators at Phu Quy island.

The facility plays an important role in developing marine economy, ensures national energy security, and asserts sovereignty of the country.

Credit arrangement and credit agreements between PV Power with OceanBank and HSBC Vietnam represent a joint tripartite aspiration of developing long-term power source cooperation in a bid to deal with power shortages in the country, and strengthen national security and defence.
