The northern province of Quang Ninh has completed preparatory work for the Vietnam-China International Tourism and Trade Fair 2007, slated from November 1-6 in Mong Cai Township, the provincial people’s authority said at a press briefing October 17.
The fair is part of the national trade promotion program to improve the economic relationship with China.
This year’s fair is expected to draw the participation of about 80 booths of Chinese enterprises, mostly from Guangxi province, and 400 others of Vietnamese firms.
The event will include a Vietnam-China investment promotion conference and a launching ceremony of e-transaction and some other cultural activities between youths of the two nations.
By June, the Mong Cai border gate alone recorded two-way trade value of US$965.5 million, an on-year rise of 21 per cent, including US$323.7 million worth of exports and US$105.4 million worth of imports.
Last year, national goods exported via the provincial border gates were valued at US$4.2 billion. (Pioneer)
