Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is forecast to receive between 1.8 million and 2 million foreign travelers by 2015, up 66.66% over this year’s figure, said the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
To gain the goal, the capital will diversify its tourism services by making the most out of its natural resources, and cultural and historical heritage.
The city will also join hands with other localities to boost the local tourism industry, it added.
Hanoi now has 511 accommodation centers with more than 12,700 rooms, including 178 ranked hotels with 8424 rooms (eight five-star hotels, six four-star hotels, and 19 three-star hotels).
It is forecast to receive 1.2 million foreign travelers this year, up 20.5% over the previous year.
At present, the number of foreign tourists to Hanoi accounts for 33% of the country’s total. (VoV)
